Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State recently paid a thank-you visit to the Chancellor of Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Dr. Folorunso Alakija. This visit was part of the governor’s appreciation tour, where he expressed gratitude for the support and collaboration between the state government and the university. Dr. Alakija, a prominent businesswoman and philanthropist, has been instrumental in advancing the university’s goals and fostering a strong relationship with the state administration.

During the visit, Governor Adeleke highlighted the importance of educational development in his administration’s agenda and praised Dr. Alakija for her contributions to UNIOSUN’s progress. He also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the university’s initiatives and ensuring that the institution continues to provide quality education to its students.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye, earlier in his remarks, acknowledged the Governor’s support in complementing the Chancellor’s efforts to develop the university. He noted that Governor Adeleke had approved the construction of the access road linking the hospital to the university, which is now about 70 percent complete.

 

Professor Adebooye praised Dr. Alakija for her continuous support and announced that the university looks forward to her participation in the upcoming 14th convocation ceremony on September 21.

 

This visit underscores the strong collaborative spirit between Osun State University and its stakeholders, promising a brighter future for the institution and its community.
