The management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) Abeokuta has announced a new academic calendar, with the first-semester examinations scheduled to start on May 13th.
This new development was disclosed by the management and confirmed by the polytechnic’s Public Relations Officer, Yemi Ajibola, on Tuesday.
We recall that according to the initial academic calendar, the first-semester 2023/2024 examinations were proposed to be held on April 29th, a date when many students were prepared to commence their assessments.
However, on the same day, the management made an abrupt change, postponing the examinations and extending the lecture and revision period until May 11th.
The new schedule sets the examination dates from May 13th to June 1st, affecting all categories of students, including ND1, ND2, HND1, and HND2, across both full-time and part-time programs. This three-week delay has caused considerable frustration and disruption for students and faculty alike.
Similarly, the management announced that the matriculation ceremony for new students, initially slated for May 8th, has been postponed to a later date, with plans to hold it after the first-semester exams are completed.
Hence, the calendar now indicates that the first semester will conclude on June 1st, while the new semester commences on June 3rd, 2024.
The management has also assured the students that their pending results will be released before the commencement of the examinations
