LASU MAKES ETHICAL CLEARANCE COMPULSORY FOR FINAL YEAR PROJECTS
Lagos State University has introduced mandatory ethical clearance for final year research projects. The directive takes immediate effect for all students.
Legitdan news report that the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji Bello, has approved mandatory ethical clearance for all final year research projects in the institution.
The university stated that with immediate effect, no student will be allowed to commence or submit a project without prior approval from the University Research Ethics Committee.
The directive applies to students across all faculties and departments. Academic heads have also been instructed to verify compliance before grading any project work.
The management warned that failure to comply with the new requirement will be treated as a breach of institutional policy.
The university added that the decision reflects its commitment to research integrity and alignment with global best practices.
