LASU CHANGES ADMISSION AGGREGATE GRADING SYSTEM FOR 2025/2026
Legitdan News reports that Lagos State University (LASU) has introduced a new grading formula for calculating aggregate scores for admission — as confirmed in the ongoing 2025/2026 admission screening registration.
This change affects how both JAMB and O’Level results are calculated, and all applicants are advised to take note and adjust their expectations accordingly.
🔍 NEW LASU AGGREGATE FORMULA:
✅ JAMB Score Calculation:
Multiply your JAMB score by 0.15
✅ O’LEVEL Calculation (Best 5 relevant subjects):
-
A1 = 8 points
-
B2 = 7 points
-
B3 = 6 points
-
C4 = 5 points
-
C5 = 4 points
-
C6 = 3 points
📌 Add both your JAMB and O’Level points together to get your total aggregate score.
🧠 Example Calculation:
-
JAMB Score = 280 → 280 × 0.15 = 42
-
O’Level Grades: A1, B2, B3, C4, C5 = 8 + 7 + 6 + 5 + 4 = 30
-
Total Aggregate = 42 + 30 = 72%
⚠️ These changes were confirmed through LASU’s updated screening system. All candidates should now use this format to avoid wrong assumptions about their admission chances.
