One of the most interesting crucial moments in student leadership at the university. UNILORIN STUDENT UNION ELECTION has commenced again in the institution for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

Following the revealing of the election schedule by the University of Ilorin Independent Students Electoral Commission (UISEC), individuals from different departments and faculties have shown interest in the position at the central executive council and officially declared their ambitions to hold positions in different offices.

According to the UISEC released timetable, there will be a Manifesto today, Friday, June 13th, 2025, at the Students Union Building at exactly 4:00pm. This is for aspiring leaders to share their vision, ideas and what they will do if they emerge. This is to also make the students hear from candidates what they can offer them if elected.

In what A-MEDIA UPDATE has gathered, Rasheed Afees Opeyemi, popularly known as RASHAF from the Faculty of Education and Idris Adelu, politically known as ADELU from Social Sciences have both declared formally to contest for the Position of the Student Union President of the University of Ilorin for 2025/2026 Academic Session. Also, RAHMA and Lamina have both declared for the vice president, PS. While Eniola for CHOS.

The other aspirants as gathered by A-MEDIA UPDATE,  to have declared formally are
DAWODU vs Alaafin for General Secretary.
MO vs ORI for AGS.
GIWA PR vs ZEED for Public Relations Officer,
HEMDEE vs Fada Abraham for Financial Secretary.
OLA and Ability for Welfare (PS), Salamat Vs Atty for Welfare (COHS). SAMZY vs. King HOYE for social secretary.
TAIWO vs OLA of pharmacy for sports secretary.

Meanwhile, there will be a manifesto at CHOS on Saturday by 4pm and a press night at the Auditorium by 8pm.
