JAMB TO PROSECUTE OVER 60 UTME OFFENDERS
Legitdan News reports that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced plans to prosecute over 60 individuals arrested for various examination malpractices during the just-concluded 2025 UTME.
Speaking in Kogo, Abuja, the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, stated that most of the suspects were arrested for impersonation and other unauthorized activities at several CBT centres across the country.
“We have arrested over 60 people for impersonation. They are currently in the custody of security agencies as we prepare for their prosecution,” he said.
He further disclosed that JAMB is also investigating biometric verification issues to determine the authenticity of some candidates’ registrations.
Prof. Oloyede added that no makeup exams will be conducted for candidates who arrived late for the UTME, stressing that the exam remains a one-time opportunity.
