UTME 2025: JAMB DELISTS FIVE CBT CENTRES FOR FAILING TO MEET REQUIRED TECHNICAL STANDARDS

Legitdan News reports that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has delisted five Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across Nigeria for failing to meet the technical requirements set for the ongoing 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The affected centres include:

  1. Adventure Associate, Behind Sheshe Supermarket, Off Hadejia Road, Kano, Kano State.

  2. Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Zaria Road, Naibawa, Kano, Kano State.

  3. Penta M & F Technical Services Ltd, Centre 2, 96km Sokoto-Jega Road, Tambuwal.

  4. Penta M & F Technical Services Ltd, Centre 1, 96km Sokoto-Jega Road, Tambuwal.

  5. Soronara Ventured Nigeria Limited, Foundation Road, Umudagu Mbieri, Mbaitoli, Imo State.

According to a statement by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the centres were removed from operations due to technical failures and failure to comply with JAMB’s operational standards.

While praising the outstanding performance of 883 CBT centres nationwide, JAMB warned that any centre, regardless of ownership, that compromises technical or ethical standards will be blacklisted without hesitation.

Candidates assigned to the delisted centres are strongly advised to reprint their examination notification slips immediately to know their new centres and rescheduled exam dates. JAMB emphasized that excuses from candidates who fail to reprint will not be entertained.

Meanwhile, more than 900,000 candidates have already successfully sat for the 2025 UTME out of the total 2,083,600 registered candidates.

27 PERSONS ARRESTED FOR IMPERSONATION DURING 2025 UTME

In a related development, JAMB confirmed the arrest of 27 individuals caught impersonating candidates during the ongoing exams. The suspects have been handed over to the Nigeria Police for prosecution.

JAMB ADDRESSES HIJAB INCIDENT AT CALEB UNIVERSITY

JAMB also addressed a controversial incident at Caleb University, where some female candidates wearing hijabs were reportedly restricted by a security officer. JAMB described the act as unauthorized and against its policies, emphasizing that no instruction was given by either the university or JAMB to discriminate against any candidate.

The Vice-Chancellor of Caleb University condemned the action, attributing it to the overzealousness of a single security operative. Immediate corrective measures were taken, and JAMB confirmed that no candidate suffered any disadvantage.

The exam body commended Caleb University and the exam centre officials for their swift intervention and reiterated its commitment to ensuring fairness, integrity, and smooth conduct throughout the 2025 UTME.
